Dobrich Municipality did not allow volleyball to the meeting for the report on sports funding.

Players and the club management gathered in front of the administration building but were not allowed into the briefing where Mayor Yordan Yordanov and his team presented the distribution of funds for sports clubs. This was reported by the websitewww.dobrichonline.com. The club president, Todorin Nenchev, stated that the reason for the tension is the delay in the requested funds, which has led to serious problems for the team.

Nenchev explained that the main problem is not the amount of funds allocated, but the fact that the requested installment in December was not paid, while other clubs received funding. He stated that they do not dispute how much money they were allocated last year and the amount, but the problem is that in December they did not receive the requested funds along with the football clubs, which led to a very difficult situation and the departure of several athletes.

In December, the club requested 30,000 leva but received nothing. In January, a request for 150,000 leva was submitted, with 100,000 leva approved, but the actual amount paid was 50,000 leva, which is insufficient.

According to Nenchev, there is inequality in the funding of sports clubs. He stated that the two clubs cannot be treated differently and that it is not normal for one club to submit a letter on January 6 and immediately receive funds, without the amount being reviewed by a commission, while they have been suffering for years.

The club's financial problems began three years ago after the main sponsor, who provided 120,000 leva annually, withdrew. The club still has salaries to pay from previous years.

Nenchev emphasized that the club did not ask for more funds than the previous year, but only the same amount until March to finish the season. He stated that for three years the club has been in collapse and that they requested the same amount they received last year until March, but did not receive it. So far, three athletes have left due to the situation. He explained that they did not want the situation to escalate, they understand the situation in the country and the municipality, but they do not want more than what they received last year so they can play in the Super League.

The club president stated that he is not worried about the upcoming audit, but welcomes it, because it will show where the funds were spent and how the club is managing to cover expenses, despite the lack of sponsors and dependence on the municipality.

He recalled that three years ago the mayor said that there was nothing to worry about and that the club would cope and continue in the Super League, but at the moment it is once again forced to fight for its survival.
