Macerata managed to secure an important victory after a full comeback in the derby of the round in Serie A2 against Aversa with a score of 3:2 (23/25; 18/25; 25/22; 25/23; 15/12). Thus, national team player Samuil Valchinov and his teammate Todor Dimitrov managed to defeat Gordan Lyutskanov and his Evolution Green, Aversa. Valchinov finished second in scoring for his team with 17 points (1 ace), while Dimitrov added 4 points (1 block) in three sets played. Levski youth academy player Gordan Lyutskanov scored 12 points (2 aces), but Matheus Motzo from Aversa was above all with 33 points (1 block, 2 aces), but even those were not enough for anything more than a ranking point.

After the first extremely contested set, which ended in favor of the guests, the second part was a true demonstration of power: Motzo, Canuto, and Garnica led the team to a convincing 18-25, which earned them a ranking point.
But Macerata did not give up: with a series of successful substitutions, the team from Marche returned to the match and found the key to trouble Virtus. The third and fourth sets were played point for point, with the hosts managing to prevail in crucial moments, taking the match to a tie-break, which was a battle of nerves, and Macerata managed to complete the comeback, winning 15-12.
With this victory, Macerata moved further away from the relegation zone and is in 12th position in the standings. Aversa is fourth, and this away game ended their streak of six consecutive victories. Nevertheless, the dream of playoffs for promotion to the elite league is alive for Lyutskanov and company.
