Imoco Conegliano triumphs with sixth consecutive Italian Cup

Prosecco Doc Imoco Conegliano continued its dominance in Italian volleyball, winning the Italian Cup for the seventh time in its history and sixth consecutive trophy, defeating Vero Volley Monza 3:0 (37-35, 25-20, 25-20). With this success, the team surpassed the achievements of the legendary Teodora Ravenna and Volley Bergamo, who each have six titles.

Difficult start, emphatic finish

The final match in Bologna began with an incredibly contested first set, ending 37-35. Milano had five opportunities to close the set, while Imoco needed eight attempts before Gabi finished it. In the first set, Paola Egonu (14 points, 57% attack efficiency) and Isabelle Haak (10 points, 52%) led the duel, but Monza's errors (11 against 4 for Imoco) tipped the scales in favor of the "Panthers".

The second set started with a lead for Milano (12-16), but Imoco showed incredible cohesion, turned the score around, and imposed their will with 25-20. Towards the end, Gabi and Ju were once again at the center of the action, and an error by Egonu finally solidified Imoco's advantage.

The third set was marked by a drop in Egonu's performance (only 23% in attack), while Conegliano continued to play confidently, relying on Haak, Gabi, Ju, and Chirichella. Despite Lavarini's attempts to change the course of the match with rotations, the "Panthers" did not lose control and again closed the set at 25-20.

With this triumph, Imoco, whom the Bulgarian audience had the pleasure of watching in Plovdiv against Maritza, recorded its 40th consecutive victory, continuing to be an unshakeable leader in Italian volleyball.
