Itas Trentino continues to fight for the top in the Italian SuperLega Credem Banca, after securing a difficult 3-2 victory against Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza in a dramatic match played at ilT quotidiano Arena. With this success, achieved in front of 4000 spectators – the maximum capacity of the hall, the European club champions' team drew level on points with leader Perugia, and kept their chances for first place in the standings.
The match started in a difficult way for Trentino, who was trailing 2-0 in sets. Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza demonstrated very strong play and effectiveness at the beginning, using every opportunity for attack and serve to impose their tempo. This difficult victory comes at a time when Trentino needs every opportunity to chase first place in the SuperLega. This success gives new hope to Trentino, who with 45 points, the same as first-placed Perugia, will be looking towards the upcoming match of Angelo Lorenzetti's boys tonight against Tatarov, Burdarov and company.
