Italy officially with four teams in the Champions League

The European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) has definitively determined the Italian representatives in the European club tournaments for the 2026/27 season. Following the decision for Itas Trentino to receive a wild card to participate in the Champions League, Italy will have a total of four teams in the most prestigious competition.
Champion Sir Safety Susa Perugia will participate as the Serie A title holder, and a spot in the Champions League was also secured by championship finalist Cucine Lube Civitanova, Rana Verona as the best-performing eliminated semi-finalist and second in the regular season, as well as Itas Trentino, who received the special invitation from CEV.
In the CEV Cup tournament, Italy will be represented by Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza, and Valsa Group Modena, who won the playoffs for fifth place, will participate in the Challenge Cup.
Meanwhile, the Italian volleyball league also announced the program for the traditional Volley Mercato, which will take place from July 14 to 16 in Bentivoglio, near Bologna. The forum gathers the leaders and staff of Serie A clubs and traditionally marks the beginning of the new season.
The most anticipated moment will be on July 16, when the calendars for the 2026/27 season will be officially presented, the main dates in the championship, and all news concerning the upcoming 82nd edition of the Italian Serie A. A day earlier July 15 the final rosters of all clubs for the new season will also be published after the completion of player registration procedures.
