While men's volleyball clubs at the top of the world's leading leagues have practically finalized their rosters, for women's teams, building squads for the next season is in full swing. One of the European champions, Zehra Gunes, has been tempted with a lucrative contract from Prosecco Doc Imoco Conegliano. Daniele Santarelli, who works with the Turkish national team in the summer, would like to see his protégé at the club as well.

According to a leading Italian website, the club from the Veneto region is one of the probable destinations for the Turkish volleyball player. Daniele Santarelli has known this player for two years; at the start of their journey together in 2023, they won the European Championship and the Nations League. Turkish media on the X platform (formerly Twitter) also reported the contract amount the volleyball player herself is counting on. She has submitted a request to VakifBank for 45 million Turkish liras net, which recalculates to over 1.2 million euros.

The 25-year-old player has been with the club near the Bosphorus continuously since the 2017/2018 season. During this period, she has won four national titles and two bronze medals. She has triumphed in the Champions League three times and reached the final once. She has won a total of five medals from the FIVB Club World Championship, including two gold and two silver. She has also lifted four Turkish Cups and three Supercups. This season, she will also compete for the European title. In a month, she will join the Istanbul derby against Fenerbahce. The stake of the match will be the Final Four tournament, which will be held in Turkey.
