Kristian Titriyski was named "Rookie of the Week"

The University of Hawaii (UH) men's volleyball team won two of the Big West weekly awards after their two-match victory against #5 Brigham Young University last week in Provo, Utah.
Outside hitter Christian Titeriysky was named "Freshman of the Week" and middle blocker Kurt Nusterer was named "Defensive Player of the Week."
The two helped the Rainbow Warriors win the season series against the Cougars in Provo for the first time in program history. UH entered the week with a huge 4-29 losing record in Provo, but now has three consecutive wins, which has not happened since 2019.
This is the second time this season that UH has been honored by the Big West. After winning the season-opening series against McKendree, the University of Hawaii took home the awards for best hitter and freshman of the week, as well as the setter of the week award.

To win "Freshman of the Week," Christian Titeriysky achieved:

An average of 4.11 kills per set and 5.22 points per set.

Also averaged 1.22 blocks per set, recorded four aces, and had a 28.8% hitting percentage in the series.

A personal best of 20 kills, a 33.3% hitting percentage, with three aces and four blocks in a five-set victory in the first match.

Recorded seven of his 20 kills in the marathon fifth set, including three kills that erased match points.

Recorded 17 kills and personal bests of seven digs and seven blocks in a four-set victory in the rematch.

Made two decisive kills in the fourth set to give UH their 22nd and 23rd points.
