According to Russian media, Belarusian outside hitter Maxim Bogatko is set to join Novosibirsk's "Lokomotiv."
Last season, Bogatko (199 cm tall) played in the Russian championship for "Shakhter" and became the third most productive player for the Soligorsk team, recording 401 points in 36 matches with 44% attack efficiency and 32% positive reception.
During the offseason, he transferred to St. Petersburg's "Zenit," but his contract was terminated in October. The 23-year-old volleyball player did not play a single match for the new team in the Legends' Cup, and in the Russian championship, he was included in the squad three times, once came on as a substitute, but did not score any points.
In November, Bogatko became a player for the "Gaziantep" club, which competes in the second tier of Turkish volleyball.
Now Maxim is called upon to strengthen "Lokomotiv's" outside hitters' line. During the season, the Novosibirsk team terminated the contract with Cuban Yoandy Leal, and recently announced the signing of Evgeny Sivrozhelez. For reception, "Loko" also has Marko Ivovic, Omar Kurbanov, and Alexander Kostadinov.
"Lokomotiv" is in second place in the Russian championship standings, having won 18 out of 22 matches. On February 5, Plamen Konstantinov's team will visit "Dinamo-Ural."
