National player Georgi Tatarov and his team Grottazzolina continue their winning streak in the Italian SuperLega, after defeating Allianz Milano and Matey Kaziyski in a home match with a score of 3:2 (25:23, 31:33, 25:21, 23:25, 15:11).
Tatarov finished second in scoring for his team with 17 points (1 block, 1 ace). The most prolific player was his teammate Dusan Petkovic, who scored an impressive 29 points (1 block, 2 aces) and deservedly became the MVP of the match.

Fredricci added 13 points, and Canadian national player Demianenko contributed 11 points to the victory.
Matey Kaziyski entered the game in the second set and played almost the entire match with short breaks, finishing with 12 points.

Reggers added 22 points, and Olympic champion Loati another 14, but even these were not enough for success, and the Milan team had to settle for one point in the standings.

Denis Bardarov entered the game several times in place of the setter on the front row to improve the block's effectiveness.
The match could have developed quite differently if, after winning the first set, the hosts had been more concentrated to take the second set, in which they had several set points, including one won by Tatarov at 26:25, but in the end, the more experienced team from Milan, with Kaziyski, managed to close the set at 33:31. Kaziyski again brought things to a tie-break, in which the hosts got off to a flying start with 4:0 and were the first, through Tatarov, to reach 8:5 and change sides. Thanks to Tatarov and Petkovic, Grottazzolina managed to keep their composure at 12:11, which was followed by a strong blocking play from Antonov and Demianenko against Loati, securing the victory.
With the two points earned and their fifth victory, the newcomer to the Italian elite moves even further away from the relegation zone, occupying 9th position in the table. Milano are sixth.
The next match for the Tatarov/Bardarov tandem is on February 9th, a home game against champions Perugia.
