The second foreign addition to VC Cherno More Varna's roster is attacker Janis Medenis. The 23-year-old outside hitter comes from his home country Latvia, where he played for Jekabpils. With his team, Janis became Latvian champion and finished 3rd in the Baltic League. A year earlier, he defended the colors of Tectum in the Belgian elite league, with which he ranked 7th.

The 206-centimeter-tall volleyball player plays as an outside hitter. In addition to being a national team member for his country, Janis is also a fan favorite at Jekabpils because of his emotional playing style - similar to Aksel Truhtchev.
