After the dramatic 3:2 victory over Ukraine (25:22, 19:25, 21:25, 25:15, 17:15), Bulgaria climbed to 16th place in the provisional standings of the Nations League with 5 points and two wins. Marcello Abbondanza's team now overtakes the Dominican Republic and France, who occupy 17th and 18th position respectively.
The ranking at the bottom of the table, however, is not yet final, as three matches are scheduled for later today that could directly affect the battle to stay in the elite league – Czech Republic vs. Dominican Republic, Belgium vs. France, and Germany vs. Brazil.
Particularly important for Bulgaria will be the performance of the Dominican Republic and France, who are among the direct competitors of the "lionesses" in the fight to maintain their place in the VNL. It is against France that our team plays its third match in Belgrade.
