Melissa Vargas with 32 points, Turkey overturned Germany from 0:2 for their fifth victory in the VNL

The Turkish women's national team achieved a dramatic victory over Germany with a score of 3:2(18:25,24:26,25:19,25:22,15:13) in a match from the second week of the Volleyball Nations League (VNL), played in Ankara.
The Turkish women achieved success after an impressive comeback from 0:2 sets down and recorded their fifth victory in seven played matches. With this success, the hosts accumulated 13 points and climbed to sixth place in the temporary standings. Germany suffered its fifth defeat and remained with 9 points and 12th position in the VNL.
The Germans started the match stronger and won the first set 25:18. In the second part, Turkey led 14:8 and later reached two set points at 24:22, but Germany scored four consecutive points and closed the set 26:24 for a 2:0 lead.
The hosts found their way back into the match in the third set. İlkin Aydın and Melissa Vargas led the team in attack, and a series of six consecutive points after 19:20 brought success with 25:19.
The fourth set was also contested. Sinead Jack-Kisal played an important role both in attack and from the service line, and Turkey leveled the score after 25:22.
In the decisive tie-break, Germany took a 5:2 lead, but the Turkish women managed to catch up. After a 12:12 tie, a block by Jack-Kisal gave the hosts the lead, and they converted their first match point for the final 15:13.
The top scorer for the winners was Melissa Vargas with 32 points. İlkin Aydın added 15 points, Jack-Kisal finished with 12, and Erkek scored 11 points.
For Germany, Lena Alsmeier was the top scorer with 25 points, and Timmer added 16.
