Hungarian Vegyes (Kazincbarcika), where Borislav Nikolov, winner of the Bulgarian Cup with Deya Sport (Burgas), plays, issued an open letter to the mayor of the city before the first semi-final for the national cup, which will be played today. The letter is from the VRCK sports director Milan Toth and the men's team head coach Miklós Toronyai, and is addressed to the mayor of Kazincbarcika, Péter Szitka. The team finished in fifth place last season in the Extraliga.

In the letter, we read:
“Dear Mr. Mayor,
After a year of fruitless negotiation attempts and 'pro forma' public discussions, we are writing you this open letter.
For everyone, except you, it is natural that the three issues of volleyball in Kazincbarcika are now:
- the question of co-financing, still necessary for the full completion of the Volleyball Academy,
- the settlement of its fate after the completion of the commissioning procedure,
- as well as the question of supporting the five-time Hungarian champion and three-time Hungarian Cup winner - the men's team, are issues that must be resolved and considered separately.
It is shocking and at the same time tragic that in a National Sports City, in addition to the 'Sports Nation' program, there has been no solution or progress on these issues for over a year! We now request a hearing in support of the third - the men's team.
Dear Mr. Mayor!
On Wednesday this week, we are already playing for a place in the Hungarian Cup final. The regular season of the championship will soon end, where we are currently in fourth place.
We would like to know what future the city leadership has foreseen for us. We know the past. In the last eight calendar years, the city has supported men's volleyball with a total of 74 million forints, compared to over 1 billion forints for football in the same period, not to mention the construction of a swimming pool worth over four billion forints, hidden behind barely more than a dozen certified athletes. We would also like to belong to the respected, recognized and supported community of sports life in Barcik!
You know our phone number. We hereby ask you to provide an opportunity for a personal meeting as soon as possible.
With gratitude and respect,
Milan Toth and Miklós Toronyai”.

The ultimate tone of the team's epistolary communication with the mayor shows that the patience of the volleyball players, who are in the top 4 for the National Cup for the eighth consecutive year, is running out. Hopefully, this will not affect today's match of Bobby Nikolov and company for a place in the final with an away game against Kecskemét. VRCK finished second last year, losing in the final to Fino Kaposvár.
