Defeats for Dimitrov and Petkov in France

The Parisians achieved a convincing victory in their away match against league leaders Montpellier with a score of 3:0 (25:19, 25:23, 25:15) on Saturday evening in a match from the 17th round of the championship.
The temporary leader in the championship before this round - Montpellier - suffered a crushing defeat from the Parisians, after having beaten Tourcoing, the then leader, in a tie-break a week ago. Montpellier did not win a single set, collapsing in the third. With just 10 errors (including 7 from service),Paris could again rely on the familiar Nik Mujanović (20 points, including 3 aces)and applied pressure on serve while maintaining good reception (68% positive). The national player Mitko Dimitrov finished with 17 points (4 blocks), realizing 43% in attack and was the top scorer for the hosts.

Montpellier will closely watch the last match of the day today, when Silvano Prandi's Chaumont hosts Tourcoing. If Chaumont, the next opponent of Levski in the Champions League group stage, wins, they can draw level on points with Montpellier, while Tourcoing's team will try to regain the leading position.

Returning from Switzerland, where they defeated Amriswil in the first playoff match for the CEV Cup, the players from Tours easily handled Toulouse in Grenon with a 3:0 (25:22, 25:20, 25:19) victory, breaking the Spacers' three-match winning streak in the championship. Ryan Sclater, Tours' Canadian opposite, scored 20 points, including 3 blocks (57% in attack), while middle blocker Guilherme Voss, definitely in good form, recorded five blocks (9 points total for Tours).Iliya Petkov scored only 3 points for Toulouse, being targeted 6 times in attack and blocked once.
