Bulgaria also dealt with Montenegro for a second victory in the Women's U16 Euro Qualifiers

Bulgaria showed character and mental resilience to defeat the Montenegro team with 3:2 (27-23, 21-25, 25-22, 22-25, 15-13) on the second day of the European qualification for women under 16. Thus, Bulgaria continues its fight for a place in the finals of the continental championship with two wins from two matches.

The match against Montenegro was very even and full of twists and turns. A day earlier, the Montenegrin team prevailed 3:0 over Serbia, and our young "lionesses" also celebrated a clean victory against Romania.
Today, the hosts started with many serving errors, but after the first set, we noticeably increased our attack percentage.
In the second part, the reception was not going well, which was the main reason Montenegro leveled the score in sets.
After a comeback, achieved with a lot of fight from Vladislav Todorov's girls, we took the lead in the sets.

A strong play from Montenegro followed, which took a set with the same score, bringing the match into a tie-break.
In the final set, the Bulgarians managed to pull ahead in the score, maintaining, albeit minimal, a distance from the opponent.

The winning point was scored by Darina Ivanova, who also became the top scorer for Bulgaria with 18 points. Gabriela Pekova added 15, and Krasimira Garova – 10 points. Statistics show that our team finished with 7 blocks and 11 aces, but also 40 unforced errors.
On Friday, January 17, we face Greece. The match starts at 5:30 PM. The daily ticket costs 10 leva and can be purchased at the box office of Hristo Botev Hall. All matches from the European qualification in Sofia are broadcast live on the BFV YouTube channel.
