Giovanni Guidetti will be the new head coach of the Canadian women's national team, according to volleyball.it. The contract will be signed in the coming days. The 52-year-old specialist from Modena begins a new project after his previous experience as assistant coach of the Italian national team and head coach roles for the national teams of Bulgaria, Germany, the Netherlands, Turkey, and most recently - Serbia.
Guidetti will lead the team in the Volleyball Nations League, with the first tournament taking place in Ottawa from June 4 to 8, where he will face three of his former national teams (Netherlands, Bulgaria, and Serbia), as well as Japan and the Dominican Republic.
He will then participate in the World Championship in Thailand from August 22 to September 7, where Canada is in Group E along with Turkey, Bulgaria, and Spain in Nakhon Ratchasima.
A former coach of Bulgaria will lead Canada at the World Cup against our team.
