Bulgaria defeated Romania in the first match of the U16 European Championship qualifiers for girls, which our country is hosting. Our volleyball players, led by Vladislav Todorov, encountered difficulties only in the first set, after which they closed the match with a clean 3:0 (26:24, 25:18, 25:20). Ana Maria Chomakova, Gabriela Pekova, and Krasimira Garova were the top scorers, finishing with an equal active of 9 points. Darina Ivanova concluded with 7 points for the victory. In the other match, Turkey decisively defeated Greece with 3:0. Only the winner of the tournament, which includes teams from Bulgaria, Serbia, Turkey, Romania, Greece, and Montenegro, will qualify for the championship on the Old Continent.
Tomorrow Bulgaria plays against Montenegro again at 5:30 PM in "Hristo Botev" Hall.
