The most difficult task is for Alex Nikolov and Lube, who visit Nova Tech Lycurgus Groningen in a quarter-final match of the Challenge Cup tournament. This is the most competitive team among all that Lube has faced so far in the Challenge Cup. The team is led by a coach with rich international experience - the "old fox" Mark Lebedev. The squad has many quality foreign players, starting from the Slovenian setter Planinsic, through the two outside hitters - the Portuguese Marques and the Chilean Parraaguirre, to the Finnish middle blocker Zhbankov, who competes for the starting position with the Dutchmen Boukhoot and De Vries. The Dutch national Klock plays as libero. To get an idea of Nove Tech's season, Lube's future opponents lead their championship with 10 wins in 11 matches and 29 points.
Both teams started their participation from the round of thirty-two. Lube eliminated Czech Karlovarsko with two 3-0 victories, then overcame Topola in the round of sixteen without much trouble thanks to a lightning-fast maximum-difference win in Serbia and an easy return match won in four sets at the Eurosuole Forum, with the only blemish being the lost third set. In the round of thirty-two, Groningen won 3-1 sets in the Luxembourgish "Hall des Sports" in Lorentzweiler, then advanced after a 3-0 home victory. In the round of sixteen, the Dutch dealt with Romanian Dinamo Bucharest in three sets on their home court, and after securing qualification in the return match with a two-set lead as visitors, the Tulips eased off and lost in a tie-break without consequences.

Today, Boyan Yordanov and Kuutiohomes Pafiakos Paphos host Asseco Resovia Rzeszów in the battle for the CEV Cup.Tuomas Sammelvuo's proteges will visit the Island of Aphrodite, where the hosts have already shown very good performances in this year's competition.
The team from Paphos has recently regularly ranked among the best in the local championship. In the previous season, the squad was highly international, with the campaign ending with a second place in the championship and a second place in the Cyprus Cup. Between seasons there were many personnel changes, with Giorgos Platritis becoming the new coach. Under his leadership, the team has already won the Supercup.
In the current championship, Pafiakos occupies first place and continues towards the next title. After 10 rounds, the volleyball players from Paphos managed to collect 22 points with a balance of 8 wins and 1 loss. The undisputed leader of the team is Boyan Yordanov. The Bulgarian attacker excels in statistics and has a very rich CV.
The two teams have not had the opportunity to play against each other so far. Although Rzeszów theoretically has more potential, looking at the current development of the CEV Cup struggle, the team from Cyprus likes to surprise, and in their own hall, they feel at home.
