More than 11 thousand people witnessed Poland's fifth distinction in the Volleyball Nations League tournament. Slovenia tried to resist only in the first set, for the rest of the time the match was dictated by "drużyna polska". Total advantage for the hosts in blocking - 15 against 4.
Bartosz Kurek started as a starter, after a weak quarterfinal against Brazil and non-participation in the semifinal against France. In the middle of the set, a block by the Slovenians, an error by Kurek and an ace by Tine Urnaut allowed Gheorghe Crețu's boys to pull ahead. Kurek redeemed himself with an ace and closed the gap to one point. At the end of the set, Slovenia played more concentrated, but a setter's error brought the score to 23:23. After a powerful attack by Čebulj, Slovenia had a match point, but Kurek equalized. A successful block against Čebulj turned things in favor of Poland. Another block and an attack by Leon ended the first hour in favor of the hosts. A set full of twists and turns.
At the beginning of the second set, "drużyna polska" pulled ahead by three points. During this part, an ace by Leon was also registered at 129 kilometers per hour. Slovenia's attempts to get closer to their opponent were unsuccessful, despite episodic bursts in defense. Slovenia's coach tried many substitutions after the difference swelled by 5 points, but Poland imposed total dominance and logically won the second hour by a margin. This set will also be remembered for the entry of Žiga Štern, who played minutes with his brother Tonček Štern. Two aces by Bieniek and an error by Slovenia made the score 4:1 at the beginning of the third part. Slovenia equalized 6:6, after which Poland pulled ahead 14:9. The score swelled to 17:11 after a strong serve by Fornal and a counter by Leon. Even the entry of the veteran setter Dejan Vinčić did not help the Slovenians, who gave up resistance. The set logically ended 25:17. At the end of the third part, the groom Aleksander Śliwka also appeared on Poland's court, who, together with Bartosz Kurek, formed an interesting tandem. The most effective scorer for the winners was Leon with 18 points (including 3 blocks and 2 aces). Tomasz Fornal added 11 (including 5 blocks). For Slovenia, the most effective scorer was Klemen Čebulj (including 3 blocks and 1 ace).
