The champion of Bulgaria met with Jasmin Velichkov and Iliya Petkov in Monza

Italian Vero Volley Monza signed experienced outside hitter Jacopo Massari for the 2026/2027 season. Thus, the former Hebar Pazardzhik volleyball player will become a teammate of Bulgarian internationals Zhasmin Velichkov and Iliya Petkov in the squad of the Lombardy club.
The 38-year-old Massari arrives in Monza after two seasons with Valsa Group Modena. The Parma-born player has an impressive career behind him, in which he has accumulated 370 matches in the Italian SuperLega and Serie A2, as well as stints in France, Turkey, and Bulgaria.

For Bulgarian fans, Massari's name is well-known from his time at Hebar. The Italian was among the key figures in the Pazardzhik team, which won the historic Bulgarian championship title in the 2021/2022 season. In the same campaign, Hebar also triumphed with the Bulgarian Cup and the Bulgarian Supercup, and Massari earned the MVP award in all three tournaments.
In his rich resume, the Italian has an Italian league title, a Champions League trophy, a Club World Championship, and an Italian Cup with Lube Civitanova. With the Italian national team, he won a silver medal from the World Championship and a bronze from the European Championship in 2015.
With the signing of Massari, Monza adds more experience to its squad, in which they will also rely on Bulgarian internationals Zhasmin Velichkov and Iliya Petkov in the new season.
