Levski Sofia qualified for the semifinals of the Bulgarian Cup after a dramatic match against Pirin Razlog. The symbolic guests were on the verge of sending the match into a tie-break, but Todor Skrimov sealed the 'Blues'' ticket to the final four.
The initially favored Levski team started the match strong and took a 2-0 lead in sets, with the second set meeting almost no resistance from Blagovest Katrandzhiev's boys.
The third set gave no indication of a change in status quo, as the 'Blues' took an early 2-0 lead, after which the teams battled point for point until the very end of the set, with Pirin's first set point coming at 23:24 after an attack error by Firkal. A service error brought the score back to even (24:24), followed by a second set point for the guests from Razlog. Garkov restored parity, but the 'Blues'' new signing Simeonov made a service error. Pirin won their second set point with an attractive single block by Manchev against Garkov.
The fourth set began with a lead for Pirin, and at 4:5, Levski's captain Gotsev was injured and replaced by the young Nikolaev. The game again became point for point, with more errors, but also strong defensive play. Pirin managed to gain a two-point advantage precisely with defense and a block, with the difference swelling to 4 points (16:20) after a block against Firkal. Zhelyazkov brought in the experienced Skrimov. The team from Razlog was the first to reach 24 points after Antov's service into the net. Skrimov, who had recently entered the game, equalized, and Levski got their first match point after a block against the excellent playing Nakov.
Skrimov again finished the match with an ace, and after nearly 2 hours of play, the champions became the first semifinalist for the Bulgarian Cup.

Veni Antov was the top scorer with 17 points (1 block), with two other Levski players also finishing with double-digit scores - Vladimir Garkov with 13 and Firkal with 11 points.
Mariyan Nakov of Pirin finished with 15 points (1 ace, 2 blocks), but he was the only one to reach a double-digit score for his team.
The match was played on a court designed as a Bulgarian tricolor, and in front of the national coach Gianlorenzo Blengini.
