Darina Naneva's new club with a problem before the start of the season

The future club of Bulgarian international Darina Naneva – French Volero Le Cannet – has found itself in a difficult situation just a few months before the start of the 2026/2027 season. The club officially announced that they had been denied approval for their participation in the SP6 championship, but have immediately begun an appeal process against the decision.

In an official communiqué, Volero Le Cannet revealed that, following a hearing before the DNACG financial committee on May 12, they were notified of a refusal to participate in the elite championship next season.
According to the club, the decision was made in a specific situation, stemming from the recent resignation of the investor and club president, who had supported the project for several seasons. It was this change in management that prompted the committee to request additional information regarding the structure and financing of the project for the 2026/2027 season.
The management emphasizes that they immediately took steps to appeal in order to gain the necessary time to gather all documents, guarantees, and certificates that would prove the club's stability and sustainability.
The communiqué also states that the local authorities in Le Cannet, partners, and all interested parties are actively working to find a solution that will allow volleyball in the city to continue its development under the best possible conditions.
The situation inevitably creates some uncertainty around the future of the newly signed players, among whom is Bulgarian international Darina Naneva. The talented middle blocker was announced as a new addition to Volero Le Cannet for the 2026/2027 season, but at present, it is still unclear how the licensing procedure will conclude.
At this stage, however, there is no final decision on the matter. The club expresses confidence that they will be able to provide all required documents and defend their place in the elite of French volleyball.
