Belgian international becomes teammate of Iliya Petkov and Jasmin Velichkov in Monza

Bulgarian national players Iliya Petkov and Jasmin Velichkov could face their future Monza teammate as early as next week. On June 10, Bulgaria opens its participation in the Volleyball Nations League with a match against Belgium in the city of Brazil, and among the opponents' leaders will be the new acquisition of Italian Vero Volley Monza – Pierre Perrin.
The club officially announced the signing of the Belgian national, who is leaving the country's champion Greenyard Maaseik and will embark on the first foreign challenge of his career.
The 25-year-old volleyball player made a name for himself in the Belgian championship with Valle Volley before moving to Maaseik in 2024. It was during the past season that he was among the key figures in the team's championship title win.
In presenting the new acquisition, the Italian SuperLega described Perrin as "the jewel of Belgian volleyball" – a recognition for one of the country's most promising players.
"When Monza made me an offer, I didn't need much time to think. The opportunity to play in the most competitive league in the world and join an important club like Vero Volley was a chance I couldn't miss," said the Belgian national.
Before joining their club team, however, Perrin, Petkov, and Velichkov might find themselves on opposite sides of the net. As early as June 10, Belgium is Bulgaria's first opponent in the Volleyball Nations League, and the match in Brazil will give the Bulgarian national players an opportunity to get acquainted with one of their new teammates in Monza.
