Bulgarian international Denislav Bardarov was officially presented as a new signing for Turkish powerhouse Halkbank (Ankara).
The club announced the transfer of the 22-year-old outside hitter through its official channels, welcoming the Bulgarian to the squad for the new season.
"Welcome, Denislav Bardarov. As part of our squad planning for the new season, we have reached an agreement with the Bulgarian outside hitter Denislav Bardarov. We wish the national team player, born in 2003, a season filled with success under the blue and white jersey," Halkbank wrote.
Bardarov arrives at one of the most successful Turkish clubs after a very strong season with Istanbul Büyükşehir Belediyespor (IBB). The Bulgarian established himself as one of the team's leading figures and attracted the attention of the top clubs in the Turkish championship with his consistent performances both in attack and reception.
The transfer to Halkbank is a significant step forward in the young volleyball player's career. The team from Ankara traditionally contends for the championship title in Turkey and is a regular participant in European club tournaments. Matey Kaziyski and coach Radostin Stoychev are also there. Another Bulgarian, Tsvetan Sokolov, who is continuing his career in Bulgaria, has left the team. The team will start the new season without Aleksandr Shlivka, Arda Bostan, Marek Sotola, Ulas Kiyak, Yoandy Leal, and Yunus Emre Tayaz.
Bardarov's strong performances last season did not go unnoticed by the coach of the Bulgarian national team, Gianlorenzo Blengini. The outside hitter was among the 12 selected players for the first week of the Nations League (VNL), where he will have the opportunity to solidify his upward development on the international stage as well.
With his move to Halkbank, Denislav Bardarov becomes another Bulgarian international who will wear the jersey of one of the most prestigious clubs in Turkish volleyball.
