Plamen Hristov leaves Dunav, a divergence in transfer policy is behind the split

VC Dunav will have a new head coach next season, as Plamen Hristov will not continue his work at the helm of the Ruse team.
According to information from our media, the reason for the separation is a disagreement between the specialist and the club management regarding the transfer policy and team selection for the new season. It was precisely the differences in vision for building the team that led to the decision for both sides to part ways.
"For now, I don't have a club," he stated to volleyweek.bg Hristov.
The former national setter took over Dunav two seasons ago and leaves behind stable work at the helm of the team. His contract expired after the end of last season and will not be renewed.

The club officially confirmed the separation through a message on social media:
"Head coach Plamen Hristov's contract has expired and will not be renewed. Hristov will embark on a new path, and we will have a new head coach. The VC Dunav team thanks him for the last two campaigns and wishes him good health and success!
Many new developments and news are coming regarding our beloved Dunav."
In the coming days, the management of the Ruse club is expected to announce the name of the new coach, as well as the first changes in the squad for the 2026/2027 season. The club has already hinted that significant news regarding the team selection and future development is forthcoming.
