Slovak national player Július Firkal, who played for Levski Sofia in the 2024/25 season, will continue his career in Italy.
The receiver signed with second-division Atlantide Pallavolo Brescia for the 2026/2027 season. Thus, the 28-year-old volleyball player will make his debut in the Italian championship.
In his career, the Slovak has played in Germany, Turkey, Bulgaria, France, and Poland, with his clubs including Düren, Le Plessis, Al Hitaad, Levski Sofia, and Barkom-Kazhany Lviv.
Last season, Firkal was part of the Ukrainian Barkom-Kazhany Lviv, which participates in the strong Polish PlusLiga.
"I am very happy to arrive in Brescia and start this new adventure. This will be my first experience in Italy, and I can't wait to get to know the championship and the atmosphere. I know a difficult and competitive season awaits me, but I am ready to give my all for the team," Firkal stated.
