Slovenia defeated Serbia twice before the start of the VNL, Bulgaria meets "the blues" in Brazil

Slovenia defeated Serbia twice in two consecutive friendly matches played in Ljubljana. In the first friendly, the Slovenians won 3:0 (25:21, 25:21, 25:20).
The second match offered more intrigue, but Slovenia once again defeated Serbia, this time with a 3:1 (25:23, 23:25, 25:20, 25:20) victory. The matches were played in Tivoli Hall in Ljubljana. These games were part of both teams' preparation for the start of the Nations League 2026.
The hosts started more confidently and took the contested first set with 25:23. The Serbs reacted excellently in the second and restored parity after 25:23. In the next two sets, the Slovenians showed greater stability in attack and serve, to close the match with two consecutive 25:20 wins and celebrate the overall success.
Veljko Masulovic was the highest-scoring player for Serbia with 22 points (21 from attack and 1 ace). He achieved a 48% success rate in attack (21 points from 44 attacks).

Following him were: Aleksandar Nedeljkovic – 11 points (7 attack, 4 blocks) and Lazar Marinovic – 8 points (5 attack, 2 blocks, 1 ace).

For Slovenia, Nik Mujanovic was the top scorer with 13 points (11 from attack, 1 block, and 1 ace).

Following him, others who stood out were: Tonček Štern – 10 points (6 attack, 2 blocks, 2 aces), Rok Možič – 9 points (7 attack, 1 block, 1 ace), and Sašo Štalekar – 6 points with an impressive 83% success rate in attack (5 out of 6 attacks).
We play our last match of the tournament against Serbia in the city of Brazil on June 14. We meet the Slovenians on their turf in the second week of VNL, with the match being in Ljubljana on June 25.
