The Polish vice-champion Bogdanka LUK Lublin, whose roster includes the captain of the Bulgarian national team Aleksandar Grozdanov, has signed the Japanese libero Tomohiro Ogawa.
The 29-year-old Japan international will play outside his homeland for the first time, having previously played for Wolfdogs Nagoya, JTEKT Stings Aichi, and Suntory Sunbirds Osaka. Ogawa is a Japanese champion, a winner of the Emperor's Cup, and a multiple recipient of individual awards for reception and defensive play.
With the Japanese national team, he has two medals from the Nations League, as well as accolades from major Asian and world tournaments.
In Lublin, Ogawa will partner with his compatriot Ran Takahashi, and according to the club's management, their long-standing collaboration will make the team even stronger in defense.
Besides Grozdanov, the roster of Bogdanka LUK for the new season also includes Wilfredo León, Marcin Komenda, Dejan Djima, Matej Malinovský, and Kévin Sasak. Stéphane Antiga continues to be the team's coach.
