Italian international Mattia Bottolo will continue to be a teammate of Aleksandar Nikolov at Cucine Lube Civitanova for the next two seasons, until the Bulgarian's contract expires.
The club officially announced that they have reached an agreement with the outside hitter for a contract renewal until 2029. The new contract extends the previous agreement, which was set to expire in 2027, by an additional two seasons.
Bottolo has already played four seasons with the "biancorossi" and has gradually established himself as one of the leading figures in Lube's project. In the past championship, he recorded 396 points in 34 matches, including 54 aces and 46 successful blocks. His attack efficiency was 50.4%.
Since his arrival at the club in the 2022/2023 season, Bottolo has won the Italian Cup in 2025, played in three Scudetto finals, a Challenge Cup final, two Italian Supercup finals, and triumphed in the playoffs for 5th place in 2024.
With the Italian national team, the outside hitter has two world titles
– in 2022 and 2025, a silver medal from the European Championship in 2023, and a silver medal from the Volleyball Nations League in 2025.
