Bulgaria lost the first friendly against Argentina

Argentina started the series of friendly matches against Bulgaria with a convincing victory, after "Las Panteras" won 3:0 (25:17, 28:26, 25:12) in the first match between the two teams, played in Santa Fe. Argentina is led by its new head coach Daniel Castellani, who took over the women's national team in 2025. The experienced specialist, who led the country's men's team to a bronze medal in the World League in 2011, continues to build the "Las Panteras" squad before the upcoming international tournaments.

Head coach Marcello Abbondanza used the match to give playing time to all players in the squad and to test different options before the start of the official matches. Mikaela Stoyanova was the top scorer for Bulgaria with 9 points, and Darina Naneva added 7.
The opposite hitter Bianca Cugno, who is one of the leading figures in the Argentine squad, was named the most valuable player (MVP) of the match.
