Semeniuk, Lavia, Falaschi, Nikolov, and Botti were guests in the fourteenth edition of "After Hours". Good intentions for the new year, related to trophies, finals, survival, and health, were the main topic in the fourteenth edition of "After Hours – La SuperLega di notte". The show was broadcast live on the Facebook page and YouTube channel of Lega Pallavolo Serie A, hosted by Andrea Zorzi and Andrea Brogioni. Guests in the studio were: - Kamil Semeniuk (Sir Susa Vim Perugia) - Daniele Lavia (Itas Trentino) - Marco Falaschi (Sonepar Padova) - Aleksandar Nikolov (Cucine Lube Civitanova) - Massimo Botti (Bogdanka Luk Lublin).
Each of the guests shared their impressions of the past year and expectations for 2025. Daniele Lavia spoke about the busy period and success in the Club World Championship, Semeniuk - about working with coaches and Olympic silver, Falaschi - about the battle for survival, Nikolov - about his first participation in the Final Four and back problems, and Botti - about his work in Poland and memories of Bagnoli. Everyone expressed ambitious goals for the new year, focusing on winning trophies and improving their performance.
Aleksandar Nikolov (Cucine Lube Civitanova):
THE FIRST TIME -I am very happy, this will be my first Final Four since I've been in Italy, and now we will enjoy it(in the semi-final Lube faces Trento, in an attempt to qualify for the final and avenge the loss in the Champions League in the spring of 2024 - ed.)
THE LUBE DISCOVERY - Taking into account the season's plans, the fact that we are third makes us happy. We play very well at home, not as well away. There is still a lot of work, but I am satisfied. In these three years, we have never been third.
THE BACK PROBLEM - I don't know if it will ever be 100% better. It causes me problems in everyday life, I have to be careful, I always have to do certain exercises. But that's part of a volleyball player's life, I have to get used to it.
THE ROTATION OF RECEIVERS - I feel good about it, it's the recipe for a team with ambitions to win. In the quarterfinal for the Del Monte® Coppa Italia, it changed the game, it was the perfect example of "why we need this". We also rotate often in training.
THE MISTAKE THAT SHOULDN'T BE MADE - The coach doesn't like it when you try to serve to the weaker receiver and make a mistake by serving too much out of bounds. He has told us many times.
GOOD INTENTIONS -Professionally, I hope to reach the playoff final again and win the Challenge Cup, that would be my first professional trophy.
