Tsvetan Sokolov won the Russian Cup

The volleyball players of Moscow's "Dynamo" defeated Kazan's "Zenit" 3:0 in the Russian Cup final on their home court.
The hero of the first set was the hosts' outside hitter Yaroslav Podlesnykh, who performed brilliantly in attack (6/9) and with his ace allowed the team to pull away in the middle of the set (13:10). Thanks to Maxim Mikhailov's good serving run, the Kazan team reduced the deficit to one point (22:23), but in the next rally, Podlesnykh scored a point, and then the set was finished with an ace by the white-and-blues' captain Pavel Pankov.

At 7:7 in the second set, "Dynamo" outside hitter Denis Bogdan was injured and replaced by Anton Semyshev. Another serving run by Pankov, including an ace, allowed "Dynamo" to take a 16:12 lead. Two aces by Labinsky helped "Zenit" equalize - 16:16.And in the final part, "Dynamo"'s opposite Hitter Tsvetan Sokolov was unstoppable, accumulating 9 points in the set without losing a single ball in attack (7/12).

The former Bulgarian international also played flawlessly at the end of the third set, bringing "Dynamo" their 21st, 22nd, 23rd, and 24th points.A foot fault on Dmitry Volkov's serve proved fatal for Kazan's "Zenit", ending the match.

Sokolov was the top scorer in the match with 22 points and 58% attack efficiency.

The capital club won its second trophy this season. Earlier, Konstantin Bryansky's team won the Legends Cup, again defeating "Zenit-Kazan" (3:1) in the final. For the Kazan team this season, the consolation remains of winning the Russian Super Cup.

"Dynamo" wins the Russian Cup for the fourth time in its history (2006, 2008, 2020, 2024).
