Two Bulgarian women will again play in the elite of Italian women's volleyball next season. After Mikaela Stoyanova is already part of Macerata, Venelina Veneva will also continue her career in Serie A1 with the Millennium Brescia team. This became clear today from sources close to the volleyball player, with only the official announcement from the Italian club remaining.
Thus, in the 2026/2027 season, fans will also see "Bulgarian" clashes in the Italian elite between Brescia and Macerata.
The information about the transfer of the 17-year-old Bulgarian initially appeared on the profile of "Cerca de la Red", from where it was revealed that Veneva was among the main priorities in the selection of the newcomer in Serie A1.
Brescia is clearly building a long-term project for its performance in the strongest league in the world and is seriously investing in young players with potential. That is why the club focused its attention on one of the most promising Bulgarian volleyball players.
For Veneva, this will be a huge step in her development, as at just 17 years old she will get a chance to develop in a championship with an extremely high level of competition. With this transfer, Bulgaria will now have two representatives in Serie A1 next season. Last season, there were also two of our compatriots - Mikaela Stoyanova and Tsvetomira Mitkova.
Veneva will play for Brescia, there will be a "Bulgarian" derby against Macerata
