Bulgaria's women's national volleyball team departed today for South America, with the team's journey including a layover in Frankfurt. Head coach Marcello Abbondanza announced the squad for the first tournament of this year's edition of the Nations League, which will take place in Brazil.
Before the official matches of the prestigious competition, the Bulgarian team will play two friendly matches against Argentina. The test matches are scheduled for May 30 and 31.
Bulgaria's first match in the Nations League is on June 3 against Olympic champion Italy. This is followed by matches against the Dominican Republic on June 5, host Brazil on June 6, and Turkey on June 8.
Head coach Marcello Abbondanza will rely on 15 players for the first week of the tournament.

The friendly matches against Argentina will be an important test for the team's game rhythm before the demanding schedule in Brazil.
