Ukraine defeated Serbia 3:1 (26:24, 12:25, 25:16, 25:19) in their last match of the friendly international tournament "Silesia Cup", thus leaving the first place to be decided in the final match between Poland and Bulgaria. The match was watched by Ukrainian national Yuriy Semenyuk, who is recovering from a long season in Poland and will likely miss the first week of the VNL.

After this success, the Ukrainians concluded their participation with one win and two losses, and the situation in the standings before the last match remained extremely intriguing.

Bulgaria is the only team with two wins so far, while Poland, Serbia, and Ukraine each have one win.
