The volleyball players from the "Land of the Rising Sun" won the first match of the day in the quarter-finals of the League, defeating Canada 3-0. The Japanese, led by French specialist Philippe Blain, faced significant challenges in the first and third sets, which both ended identically at 26-24. However, their more careful play in key moments brought them a deserved victory in the match. The second set was entirely dominated by the "samurais" with a score of 25-18. Japan qualified for the tournament's semi-finals and awaits its opponent, who will be determined by the match between Slovenia and Argentina. The "Maple Leafs," led by Finnish coach Tuomas Sammelvuo, concluded their participation in the League for this season and are returning to Canada to prepare in the best possible way for their third consecutive appearance at the Olympic Games – this time in Paris.
