Bulgarian champions Levski Sofia continue their active recruitment for the new season, having signed outside hitter Svetoslav Ivanov. The volleyball player arrives in "the Blues'" squad from Romanian giant Steaua and will bolster Nikolay Zhelyazkov's team in their battle on several fronts during the upcoming campaign.
Ivanov is a well-known name in Bulgarian volleyball, and his transfer to Levski comes at a time when the capital club is solidifying its ambitions not only for new domestic titles but also for a strong performance in European tournaments.
"Accepting the club's offer was not difficult, because Levski has the best organization and training process in Bulgaria. With the team, I expect us to win titles and help develop young talents for the coming years. I eagerly await victories in front of a full hall!" stated Svetoslav Ivanov after signing with "the Blues".
Head coach Nikolay Zhelyazkov also did not hide his satisfaction with the transfer and emphasized both the athletic qualities of the outside hitter and his character.
"Svetlyo is an exceptionally high-quality addition. We know him well; he will fit in wonderfully both as a player and as a person. I can't wait to start working together, and I am sure he will give his all to achieve success," commented the champions' coach.
With the signing of Svetoslav Ivanov, Levski Sofia adds more experience and stability in reception and attack. Expectations are for him to play an important role in the squad during the upcoming season, in which "the Blues" will once again pursue a domestic double and strong European participation.
