Perugia defended its Champions League title after a rout over Zawiercie

An historic night for Sir Susa Vim Perugia! The Italian powerhouse defended its Champions League title after decisively beating Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie 3:0(29:27,25:18,25:15) in the final in Turin. Thus, the team won the tournament for the second consecutive year and finished the season with four trophies – the Club World Championship, the Scudetto, the Champions League, and the Italian Super Cup.

The first set was the most contested, offering a fierce point-for-point battle before Perugia prevailed 29:27, thanks to strong performances from Wassim Ben Tara and Oleh Plotnytskyi. After that, the Italians completely dominated. In the second set, Angelo Lorenzetti's team quickly built a lead and closed it without problems at 25:18.
In the third set, Warta led 4:1, but Ben Tara's service run turned everything around. The Tunisian scored three consecutive aces, and Perugia went on a 9:0 run, leaving no chance for the Poles until the end – 25:15.

Wassim Ben Tara was the top scorer with 24 points, while Oleh Plotnytskyi added 12.

For Warta Zawiercie, Mateusz Bieniek finished with 9 points. Kamil Semeniuk, meanwhile, won his fourth Champions League title.
