The President of the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation, Lubomir Ganev, was among the official guests at the reception celebrating Poland's national holiday, organized at the country's embassy in Sofia. He held a meeting with Anna Janiszewska-Frączek, acting Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in Bulgaria, and among the main topics of discussion was the upcoming European Volleyball Championship, which Sofia will host in September.
“It is extremely important for us that all teams and supporters who will arrive in Bulgaria feel welcome,” Ganev stated. “We have always strived to be excellent hosts, and we want fans to feel the atmosphere as if they are visiting friends. Our relations with the Polish Federation are excellent, and volleyball is a sport with immense popularity and traditions in both Poland and Bulgaria. I hope many Polish fans will visit Sofia and enjoy both the matches at ‘Arena 8888’ and their stay in the capital.”
The President of the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation also announced that meetings are scheduled with diplomatic representatives of the other countries whose national teams will participate in the championship in Sofia – North Macedonia, Portugal, Ukraine, and Israel.
“Bulgaria already has significant experience in organizing large international tournaments, and our goal is for everything to be at the highest level,” Ganev added. “We maintain constant contact with all federations and embassies to ensure we can provide the necessary assistance at any given moment.”
