Alex Nikolov earned a spot in the Ideal Team of the Asian Men's Volleyball Champions League in 2026. The Bulgarian international was recognized as one of the two best outside hitters of the tournament after his strong performance for Iran's Foolad Sirjan.
Nikolov helped his team reach the silver medals, after Foolad lost in the final against Indonesia's Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi with 1:3 (20:25, 26:24, 23:25, 23:25). In the last match, the Bulgarian scored 12 points, including 3 aces.
The Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament was Jakarta's champion star – Noumory Keita. The Malian played a phenomenal final with 38 points and logically topped the competition's Dream Team.
