The best club team today added another trophy to its cabinet. Conegliano won the 2024 FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship in Hangzhou, China, defeating Tianjin 3-0 (25-21, 25-15, and 25-20) in the final.
This is the Italian team's third title in this tournament, repeating their successes from 2019 and 2022. For the Chinese team, silver is their best achievement in history, remaining on the podium after the bronze in 2023. Milan completed the medalists this year, defeating Dentil/Praia Clube in the bronze medal match.
Conegliano finished their campaign at this year's World Championship without losing a set. In the gold medal match, Tianjin started with a 4-1 lead and maintained a good advantage until the final sprint, when they led 19-15. But gradually, the Europeans began to trouble their opponents with their serve, and Haak finished them off on the counter-attack. Gabi started a decisive service run at 19-20 and finished at 24-21.
After the most difficult and tied set, Conegliano shifted into fifth gear and dominated the rest of the match. Li Yingying this time could not carry Tianjin on her shoulders. She finished with 12 points.
For Conegliano, still undefeated in the 2024/2025 season in all competitions, the Swede Isabelle Haak finished the match with 24 points: 18 in attack, three blocks, and three aces.

The Brazilian Gabi added another ten, nine of them in attack, as well as another exceptional performance in defense.

With their triumph in Hangzhou, Prosecco DOC Imoco Volley won the 26th trophy in their history, which began in 2012. The 'Panthers' from Conegliano are the reigning champions of Italy, European champions, and now world club champions. This is an impressive treble within a season in which the yellow-and-blue team is still undefeated, reaching their 23rd victory out of 23 matches played in the 2024/25 season, which began on September 28 with the first trophy won - the Italian Supercup, at the world final in China. So far, Prosecco DOC Imoco's trophy cabinet holds 7 Italian Championship titles, 3 World Club Championship titles, 2 Champions League trophies, 6 Italian Cups, and 8 Italian Supercups. The only player present for all victories is veteran Monica De Gennaro.
