The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) officially announced that Belarusian national and club teams are granted the right to immediately return to international competitions under the federation's auspices.
The decision was confirmed after meetings of the Executive Committee and the Board of Administration of FIVB, held late last week at 'Volleyball House' in Lausanne. At the meetings, world volleyball leaders discussed the next steps for the sport's global development.
FIVB clarified that the decision is in line with the previous position of the federation's Board of Administration, as well as with the latest recommendations from the Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). The IOC no longer recommends restrictions on the participation of Belarusian athletes and teams in international tournaments organized by world federations.
Thus, Belarusian volleyball players and national teams can now participate again in international competitions with immediate effect.
