Great matches await us already in the group stage of the men's volleyball tournament in Paris.
At 7 p.m. today in the Polish city of Łódź, which is also hosting the Men's Nations League Final Eight, the draw ceremony began for the three Olympic groups, under the new regulations, in the men's volleyball tournament, which will be held in Paris. After the event concluded, the team distribution became clear, with the groups taking on the following appearance:
Group A:France, Slovenia, Canada, and Serbia
Group B:Poland, Italy, Brazil, and Egypt
Group C:Japan, USA, Argentina, and Germany
It is immediately clear that the hosts from France will have worthy company in the group stage, and the same applies to the Japan team, which performed wonderfully for yet another summer. The situation will be most intense in Group B, which can rightly be called the "Group of Death," as it "hosted" European champion Poland, world champion Italy, and the most titled national team in the world, Brazil. The group matches will be round-robin, with the top two teams from each group advancing, plus two of the best third-placed teams.
Fans will watch great matches from the very first days of the Olympic Games, with the men's volleyball tournament starting on July 27 and concluding on the last Olympic day – August 11.
