Levski Sofia suffered their third defeat in the Men's Volleyball Champions League. The Bulgarian champions lost 0:3 (22:25, 26:28, 22:25) as guests against Lüneburg.
In the first set, the 'Blues' led 10:7 and 15:13, but allowed an equalization and a comeback, losing 22:25. In the second part, the squad led by coach Nikolay Zhelyazkov again had an advantage in the score but failed to capitalize on two set points at 24:23 and 25:24 in their favor, and Lüneburg dramatically won 28:26.
The third set was dictated by the team from Northern Germany, who finished the match 25:22 and in 79 minutes.
The most productive player for Levski Sofia was former national team member Todor Skrimov with 15 points, while Venislav Antov added 14 more points.
For the hosts, who are in second place in the German championship, Theo Mohwinkel and Xander Ketrzynski stood out with 13 points each.The 16-year-old libero Dimitar Dobrev made his debut for the 'Blues' men's team, and the top scorer Todor Skrimov served 6 aces.
Lüneburg had superiority in attack and blocking, while the 'Blues' demonstrated slightly better play than their opponent in serving.
Levski Sofia is in third place in the standings, while Lüneburg is currently in second position.
