Jastrzębski Węgiel announced the extension of the contract with its captain Benjamin Toniutti until the 2025/2026 season. "It's always good to talk to family and friends at such moments, because it wasn't an easy decision. I'm not just thinking about this season, but also about the next one, because there will be new goals and it's impossible to make such a decision in two minutes. This will be a new challenge for me, but my career is built on challenges. I like to accept them and move forward. That's why I decided to stay at Jastrzębski, because for me it's a good place and I feel great here. In the end, it turned out to be an obvious decision," said the Frenchman. Toniutti has been a player for Jastrzębski Węgiel since the 2021/2022 season. With the Polish club, he has won the championship twice, the Supercup twice, and has played in two Champions League finals. With the national team, he is a two-time Olympic champion – in Paris this year and in Tokyo 2021. He has triumphed twice in the World League (in 2015 and 2017) and twice in the Volleyball Nations League (in 2022 and 2024), and also has a gold medal from the European Championship in 2015.
