Tuomas Sammelvuo, head coach of the Canadian men's national volleyball team, announced his departure, citing family reasons. Last month, Sammelvuo and his wife welcomed a new baby, which is one of the probable reasons that led him to the decision to step down. Recalling his tenure since 2022, Sammelvuo praised his players for their dedication and teamwork, highlighting achievements such as qualifying for the Paris 2024 Olympics and reaching the quarterfinals of the Volleyball Nations League. "Wins and losses fade, but relationships last forever," he stated. The Canadian Volleyball Federation confirmed that the search for a new head coach will begin immediately.
