Former CEV President Aleksandar Boricic may become responsible for Volleyball World. This is one of the decisions expected to be made at the 39th FIVB World Congress, which begins today in Porto, Portugal, and will elect a new FIVB president for the 2024-2032 period. In addition to the presidential elections, delegates will vote for various key positions, including members of the Board of Administration. The only received candidacy for the presidential post is that of Fabio Azevedo. His eligibility as a candidate was confirmed after an integrity check conducted by the FIVB Electoral Advisory Committee. The presidential vote will take place on Saturday, November 16. Azevedo, the current Director-General of the FIVB, has lived and worked in Switzerland for 11 years and will succeed the current FIVB President Ary S. Graca, who has held the position since 2012 and will transition to the FIVB Volleyball Foundation.
