The volleyball players of Metalurg (Pernik) started their participation in the 26th edition of the "Boris Gyuderov" tournament with a victory. In the first match of the competition, the team, led by the Italian Francesco Mollo, defeated Pirin (Razlog) with 3:1 (27:25, 21:25, 25:22, 28:26).
The most effective player for the winners was Lyubomir Simeonov with 24 points. David Barutov added 14 points in his debut match for Metalurg after transferring from Slavia, and Nikolay Mihovski finished with 10. Lyubomir Atanasov and Tomislav Rusev scored 8 points each.

For Pirin, the most effective player was Erik Georgiev with 14 points, followed by Viktor Chonov and Dimitar Gadzhanov with 10 each.
Metalurg had a significant advantage in serves with 12 aces against 4 for the opponent. Both teams recorded 11 points from blocks, and the Pernik team showed higher efficiency in attack - 52% against 46%.
Minior (Pernik) and CSKA also participate in the tournament, and they will meet this evening at 6:00 PM. The competition continues until Sunday, October 11, with the four teams playing in a "round-robin" system.
