EuroVolley 2026 concluded with a title for Poland after nearly three weeks of battles, in which the continent's best national teams determined the new European champion. After the final whistle, however, there remains another interesting look at the championship – that of the individual rankings, which show which volleyball players left the most significant mark with their performance.
It is there that one name appears again and again among the leaders. Luka Martila is at the top in two of the main categories and shares first place in a third, becoming one of the big figures of EuroVolley 2026. Bulgaria also has serious reasons for satisfaction – our volleyball players are present in the top 10 in each of the six main statistical categories.

Scorers

Aleksandar Nikolov reached fifth place, even though Bulgaria played only six matches, while leader Martila played nine. The Bulgarian's average score is indicative – 5.83 points per set, the highest among players in the top 10.

Best Attackers

And here, the number of games played puts Nikolov's performance in additional perspective. He has exactly 5 successful attacks per game on average – the highest indicator among the top ten.

Serve

This is the category with the strongest Bulgarian presence at the very top. Simeon Nikolov averages 0.75 aces per game, and Aleksandar – 0.62. Only Plotnytskyi has a higher average among the top five – 1.00.

Block

Grozdanov is just one block point away from the top 5. His average of 0.83 per set is also among the strongest – higher, for example, than that of fifth-placed Lemanski (0.78).

Reception

Velichkov's third place is even more interesting because of his role in the national team. The receiver was used as a libero and finished the tournament with 136 received serves, meeting CEV's criteria for this ranking.

Setters

The difference between Simeon Nikolov and fifth place is minimal – only 0.04 percentage points. Giannelli is clearly detached at the top, while below him the values tighten significantly.

Luka Marttila – the name that is repeated at the top

When comparing the six rankings, it is the 21-year-old Luka Marttila who stands out the most. The Finn is #1 in scorers, #1 in successful attacks, and #2 in serving with an equal number of aces as the leader Oleh Plotnytskyi. This statistical presence goes hand in hand with the big breakthrough of Finland, which finished EuroVolley 2026 with bronze medals.

Bulgarians in the top 10

There is no other Bulgarian competitor between 11th and 20th place in the six rankings reviewed. Thus, four national players – Aleksandar Nikolov, Simeon Nikolov, Alex Grozdanov, and Zhasmin Velichkov – finish EuroVolley 2026 with a total of seven presences in the top 10 of individual statistics.
