Three volleyball players from the University of Hawaii team were honored with Big West weekly awards after the team achieved away victories against Belmont Abbey, Catawba, and Queens.
Eleu Choy was named Defensive Player of the Week. Tread Rosenthal was recognized as Setter of the Week.
Kristian Titriyski was chosen as Freshman of the Week.He started in three of the four matches, recording a total of 36 kills (averaging 4.50 per set) with a hitting percentage of 38.8% and an average of 1.63 digs per set. In the match against Queens, he scored 18 kills, two aces, and seven digs, and in another match against the same team, he achieved 13 kills with a hitting percentage of 39.1% and six digs. Also, in one set against Belmont Abbey, he recorded five kills without errors in nine attempts.
This is Choy's first career award for defensive play, while Titriyski and Rosenthal receive the recognition for the second time this season.
